THIS IS THE TRUE FIRST EDITION HARDCOVER, WITH THE FOLLOWING POINTS: Deep yellowish tan cloth binding, top edge is red, title page printed in red and black, printer's name indicated on copyright page, and no deboss on lower corner of back cover. Pictorial dustjacket: First edition, without advertising blurbs below black and white photo of the author on back panel. Condition of hardcover: Lightly age toned (but difficult to spot immediately), some loss of red tint on top edge, very minor bump on fore-edge and extremity of top cover (again difficult to spot immediately), else overall Very Good. Dustjacket: Price intact on flap. Wear, abrasion to extremities (especially top/foot of spine panel and at folds; lightly age toned, else overall Good. A nice true first edition novel by one of America's finest writers. Steinbeck gives the reader a delightful novel, poking occasional fun at his characters and himself. Synopsis

Sweet Thursday is a 1954 novel by John Steinbeck. It is a sequel to Cannery Row and set in the years after the end of World War II. According to the author, "Sweet Thursday" is the day after Lousy Wednesday and the day before Waiting Friday.
