This is a remarkable book conveying the vast professional experience of a major surgeon who built up the clinic of the Memorial Hospital in New York City. The book is in two parts, the first consisting hiefly of text and including pre-operative considerations, general questions of technique, post-operative care, the management of complications and a host of matters not normally in less specialized text books. The second part is an illustrated atlas of operative procedures with short descriptions. A work still referred to for its clarity. Bound in black cloth pictorially stamped in blind, spine lettering gilt, previous owner's name, slight wear to corners. A very nice copy.
