New York: St. Martin's Press, 1993. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. Signed by Author. SIGNED and dated by the author at title page, from a reading in Portland, Oregon 10/5/02. Fine-looking, structurally sound hardcover, little discernible wear, bright interior, unmarked. Bound in Royal octavo hardcover format (measuring 9 1/2" x 6 1/4") bound in original publisher's quarter-green cloth with gilt lettering to spine over orange boards. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, little worn, protected by a plastic coat. Signed by the author. First edition. It is a hot California summer, and a serial killer is massacring entire families in Orange County. Russ Monroe, an ex-cop turned crime writer, stumbles onto a murder scene that replicates those committed by the serial killer. The victim was an ex-lover who he knew was dating his best friend, the city's homicide chief. The crime was not reported and the next day all traces of it have vanished.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
