About This Item
New York: Oxford University Press, 1930. First Edition. Octavo. 412p. One of the most profound works by perhaps the greatest of Princeton's theologians after Charles Hodge. He considered Calvinism the clear thought of the Apostle Paul. Though he considered the new views of dispensationalism and premillennialism bizarre. His defense of the key items of conservative theology still allowed him to be reversed by most evangelicals until the Trumpian era. Here his careful attention to Tertullian's earliest writings on the doctrine of the Trinity is followed by Augustine in the terms of his views of the Pelasgian controversy, the "Confessions" and theology as well as Augustine's doctrine of knowledge and authority. A very scarce item Bound in red cloth, spine lettering gilt, very minor wear to corners, in original light brown dust jacket lettered in black spine lettering black, chipping to spine ends and corners and a chip to lower edge of front panel, name to upper corner of front free endpaper stamped Dane Prom Smith, who studied at .Princeton after having served for two years in the Army, and was a religion major along with several other achievements.
