Chicago: The John C. Winston Co.. Good+. 1938. Hardcover. 346 p. 23 cm. Corners lightly bumped. Gilt on spine dulled. Text block edges somewhat dirty. Both hinges a bit loose. Bookstore label on front free pastedown endpaper. Some edge staining to preliminary pages including the title page. Previous owner's name has been erased. Otherwise, inside pages are still fairly clean and bright. Partial remains of dustjacket (rear panel and rear flap) laid in. Introduction by May Lamberton Becker. B&W Illustrations One of a series of collections of children's stories, known by the colour of their binding cloth. This one is the green book and includes stories and illustrations by Kurt Wiese, Pelagie Doane, Arthur T. Quiller-Couch, Dorothy Lathrop, and many others. .
