This magazine continued the magazine 'The Sportsman and Veterinary Recorder' and was replaced with New sporting magazine, Sporting review, and from July 1846, Sporting magazine [British Library records]. This volume lacks the one illustrated plate and has a two by 2 ½ inch piece cut out of an article on page 39/40 and a 2 ½ inch by 7 inch column cut out on page 41/42. In POOR/FAIR condition. Minor soiling to the covers. Moderate to heavy fading and scuffing. Heavy tattering to the extremities including the spine and the pages of the magazine themselves. Several small chips and tears present to the covers. Cover is DETACHED from the text. The text block is saddle stitched and is weak but still intact. Text is clean with minor darkening to the pages. The pages of ads in the rear are unopened. A rather hard to find hunting journal in POOR/FAIR condition. Photos available upon request.
