New York: The Neal Publishing Co, 1908. First Edition. Octavo. Portrait frontispiece. 317pp., illustrated, Though not intended as a history, this work is historical in the respect that the author narrated actual occurrences in camp, on the march, and in the battle serving with several gallant men. The author was from the Hood's Texas Brigade. He had written letters to a women, Nellie, whom he had never met but her letters kept him alive and well-advised of all that was transpiring in Texas. It wasn't until 1865 that they finally met. Ex-library copy with only five numbers below publishing information. Bound in a modern red cloth lettered in gilt, spine and top edge gilt, re-newed endpapers. A very good copy without names or plates.
