About This Item
New York: The Macmillan Company, 1938. First Edition. . Hardcover. Very Good+/Very Good-. Photographs. Bound in burgundy pictorial cloth with cream borders. Published March, 1938, with matching dates to title and copyright pages. A history of flight from the time of Montgolfiers to 1938, primarily for young people. Illustrated throughout. The cloth shows a touch of edgewear and light soil to the edges of the cream border. The endpapers have marginal toning and offsetting, due to the glue used to affix the pastedowns. The text and photos are clean, with no toning or foxing. The dust jacket, which has the same design and color scheme as the cloth, has mild edgewear and rubbing with shallow chips at the head and and heel; there is a 1-1/2" creased tear to the lower edge of the rear panel. A clean, tight, unmarked copy with the jacket in mylar.
