About This Item
Readers Book Club, 1962. Book Club edition (Readers Book Club, which I believe issued books in Australia in association with the Companion Book Club). Some creasing and small tears to edges of dustwrapper, minor bumping to spine ends and corners of gray boards, some yellowing to the pages, but otherwise a not too bad, tight copy of this hard-cover book. The autobiography of explorer and adventurer Sir Hubert Wilkins based on his notes and diaries, assembled and re-written by the American broadcaster and writer Thomas Lowell. Watkins flew over the arctic in the 1920s, sailed with Shackleton on his last expedition in 1921-22, took part in the 1931 Nautilus expedition in an ex US Navy submarine in arctic waters, and more. 248pp, 20 b&w illustrations.. Book Club (BCE/BOMC). Hard Cover. Good/Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
