About This Item
Son of Andrew and grandson of N.C., this American artist of Brandywine School legacy is best known for his evocative unofficial 1967 portrait of John F. Kennedy, but his body of work is large and diverse. Signed FDC, heavy stock pink 6½" X 5½" card, cancelled in Washington, DC on 10 November 1972 and with "First Day of Issue" so noted (though it falls atop the stamps and is difficult to decipher). Very good. Block of four "On the First Day of Christmas My True Love Sent to Me" 8-cent stamps at upper right. Near fine. Not an envelope, but a large heavy stock card. Large, bold signature in black fineline near center. Quite handsome and much larger than the traditional FDC.
