Illustrated endpapers and pastedowns. With an illustration on the title page. 24 black and white plates and 8 color plates with photographs by Hugo van Lawick. The story of Dr. Goodall and her study of wild chimpanzees in Tanzania, her observations on their ability to use and to fashion tools, to emote with each other, and their patterns of aggression. This is Dr. Goodall's third book. Jacket is price-clipped with toning to its rear panel.
