Description:
#125 of 300 numbered & signed copies. A Fine tight copy in a Fine acetate dust jacket. This is one of Bukowski's best collections of poetry, written shortly after he'd "made it" with musings about his new found comfortable life in San Pedro, as well as material concerning his earlier, more troubled times in East Hollywood, Los Angeles. Some wonderfully witty writing in here with poems about mortgages and tax accountants, as well as the standard fare of race tracks, classical music, and bad sex. One of the best Bukowski poetry books from his mid-period.

Kingston, Ontario, Canada:: Transformer Press,, 2021.. Edition of 5. 14" x 7" x 3" fabric falg book with stiffening inside the cotton and linen fabrows with a synthetic brown. Screen-printed text. Hand-embroidered items: rain, flowers and grass. Machine and hand-stitched. Lise Melhorn-Boe: "Hazel Hall's poem 'Two Sewing' animates this flag book. The lovely text refers to the wind as an embroiderer and the rain as needles, so Hedi Kyle's flag book seemed like an excellent structure to give the feeling of a landscape opening out."

1711 Paradise Lost John Milton Poetry Tonson English Thomas Newton Illustrated "The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven."
― John Milton, Paradise Lost
'Paradise Lost' follows the biblical story of the Fall of Man and the temptation of Adam and Eve. Milton himself states that purpose for this book was to "Justify the ways of God to Men". It covers the characters Adam, Eve, and Satan, and the roles each played in the development of religious culture and idolatry.
It was critically acclaimed and well-received by many famed personalities, including Samuel Johnson who states.
"[Paradise Lost shows] Milton's peculiar power to astonish…and he seems to have been well acquainted with his own genius, and to know what it was the Nature had bestowed upon him more bountifully than upon others: the power of displaying the vast, illuminating the splendid, enforcing the awful, darkening the gloomy, and aggravating the dreadful.

The author's non-linear poem about the billeting of soldiers in civilian homes in wartime. Copy 89 of a limited edition of 250. Folded into the form of a letter, the work was letterpress printed in wraps of handmade "combat paper" made from military uniforms. The author says: "Some time ago-maybe a year, maybe two? I had a conversation with some of my Combat Paper brothers (well, the kids call them their combat paper uncles, so it follows
