A collection of supernatural tales by Richard Marsh, who is described by Bleiler as a "British author of popular fiction, frequent contributor to variety periodicals around the turn of the century. Work in general is sometimes ingenious in idea but badly, even shoddily, executed." Library stamp on the pastedowns, and previous owner's name on the front flyleaf. Foxing to the preliminaries. Some discoloration to the binding, sunning to the spots, and wear to the edges of the spine. Decorated gray cloth, with lettering and illustration in green, red, and white. OCLC notes thirteen institutional holdings. (Barron 3-142 | Bleiler 1115). Good binding.
