This is a first American edition of The Scots: A Portrait of the Scottish Soul at Home and Abroad, by the Scots journalist Iain Finlayson and published in 1987. This book is now somewhat of a rarity.
It is a penetrating and entertaining analysis of the Scottish psyche that dissects Scottish romance (Balmorality), Scottish passion, Scottish migration, and Scottish attitudes to the questions of politics, religion, nationalism, whisky, and humor.
This is 272 pages. Unclipped dust jacket.
This copy is in near-mint condition. Its only flaw is some darkening to the paper and one dogear. Otherwise perfect.
