About This Item
London: Hodder & Stoughton, published for The Glasgow Herald. First Edition. Hardcover. Good +. Hardcover in original gray boards stamped with title and image. No dust jacket, as issued. No indication of date, but early 20th century. Book is clean--no marking, foxing, or tanning of pages. Binding is wobbly but holding, well. Backstrip is frayed. Illustrated with sixteen tipped-in color plates--all are present and pristine. Laid in are three unwritten postcards pertinent to members of the Scottish Regiments, a one-page brochure from the Scottish Branch of the Red Cross Society asking for contributions, and a newspaper clipping from 1997 showing the wind whipping up a Scotsman's kilt revealing what is worn underneath.
