"The Scarlet Letters" is a case of adultery and murder among the wealthy, investigated by Ellery Queen in an ethical quandry over intruding on his friends' marriage; "The Glass Village," one of the handful of Queen mysteries without a Queen, is set in a small New England village and features Judge Lewis Shinn and his nephew, John, trying to save an innocent man's life by putting him on trial for murder. The text is clean, tight, and square; the pictorial wrappers show reading creases, minor surface and edgewear, no tears or significant chipping. For the completist Queen collector.
