About This Item

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1930. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo., 328pp.plus 6 pages of ads in rear. Beautiful First Edition with Scribners "A" and seal on the copyright page. This is the true first issue with a single date, 1930, on the copyright page. Bound in black cloth with titles and borders in yellow on front board and spine. Square, tight and clean throughout with no foxing or page toning. Some fairly minor wear to bottom edges. Spine ends a bit soft. A tiny blemish or two to cloth but still uncommonly well-preserved. Equally attractive unclipped dust-jacket, ($2.00), has the very scarce wrap-around band which is split in two places but otherwise fine and very difficult to find in any condition. Light wear to top edge and rubbing to spine panel. Fresh and bright with no chipping, creases, or tears. A gorgeous collectable copy. (Hubin p. 405).
