ISBN 0908528280 ***The first part is a survey of the medium of watercolour, from its origins in Europe, through its flowering in England in the 18th & 19th centuries, to its role in the topographical recording of Australian colonies. The second part (to some extent autobiographical, with many examples of the author's own work), discusses the medium in modern Australia. .
