Appel, 1969. Six volumes. Illustrated. Buckram, gilt titles and volume numbers to spines. Moderate shelfwear, internally fresh, presentation inscription from Paul P. Appel to John Nicholas Beffel to front free endpaper of Volume I. $300. * Second and final edition, a reprint of the six-volume edition by Charles C. Burlingham and Bernard Flexner (New York: Henry Holt, 1928-1929). The contents include the full stenographic minutes of the trial, material from the court record that was not included in the original Holt edition, documentation of the motions made and the final proceedings and decisions. Also includes what exists of the report of the earlier Bridgewater trial. Beffel [1887-1973] was a notable radical journalist, publicist, and editor.
