Title page vignette + 2 folding woodcut plates + 6 near full page woodcuts + Medals & coins and antiquities [over 30+] + head- and tail-pieces + printed marginalia and initials.. 8vo contemporary leather triple blind rules to covers on 4 raised spind-bands.[Leather with some abrasions /lower cover with wear to corners & edges but both covers and spine are quite strong and secure] All page-edges are red. Title page printed in red and black with printer's mark of fountain in rococco frame +[8pp=dedications +to readers] +[14pp=explicatio notarum and Elogia] +[8pp=cataloge of authors and Indexes] +600pp + [80pp of index to FINIS] There are many misspaginations but the signatures show that there is no loss. There is quite some edge & corner creasing and quite some marginal worm holes but if affecting the text never more than a single letter per line is lost so that the text is quite readable. There are a few leaves whose edges are chipped or with some paper loss, some of which are repaired archivally, but none touch the text.The Romanorum Castrametatio folding plate is rather wrinkled and has two tears without loss repaired to verso with archival tape but the page is well attached as originally bound in. The titlepage is rather dusty and the paper facing the title and the last leaf were cut from earlier printer's waste.
