Los Angeles: Primavera Press, 1934. First edition. Limited to 750 copies. INSCRIBED BY POWELL on front endpaper, "Inscribed for Virgil R.D. Kirkham/ with my cordial good wishes/ Lawrence Clark Powell / Los Angeles June 23, 1934." Large 8vo brown cloth boards with paper spine label; 215 pages, including index; illustrated with a few photographs and with decorated initials by Rockwell Kent. Designed by Ward Ritchie, who selected which initials Kent would provide decorations for without consulting Powell--who then had to rewrite his text to accommodate Kent's letters. Few minor edge bumps still fine in near fine, slightly rumpled dust jacket with only mild soiling and spine a little faded.
