Text is illustrated with 36 two tone illustrations by Harold Freedman, and photography and other illustrations. Dark red boards with gilt writing on the spine. Illustrated dustwrapper, by Harold Freedman, with gilt and white background and black writing on front panel and spine. "Dame Mabel Brookes' fifith book has just been published. It is a history of Victoria, seen through the eyes of two women, herself and her grandmother, an early settler.". the dust jacket has several chairs with chipping on the top edge of the front panel, and chipping to the bottom of the spine and the fold over corners.
