Handsomely bound in older 1/2 brown morocco over marbled boards; simple gilt-lettered spine with raised bands; marbled endpapers. Paris: J.-Ch. Laveaux, et al., An VIII [1799/1800]. A near fine copy, quite clean and in an attractive binding. Very scarce. OCLC lists only 6 copies including those at Harvard, Yale & Biblioteque Nationale de France.<br/><br/> A precursor of Romanticism, inspired by Rousseau. This is the first complete edition. The original edition [An VI - 1798] was a fragment containing only 2 Reveries while this has all 17. -- Cioranescu, A. 18.s., 60005.<br/><br/>
