6 leaves, handwritten legal document in the County of San Augustine in the district court presided over by Royall T. Wheeler, also with Samuel Davis, sheriff, and Robert W. Martin, Clerk. Besides being the founding head of the first founding of the Baylor Law School in 1857, he became the Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court in 1858.
