Boon was a bookseller with an address of 86 Nassau St. New York. McKay 1554. This publication is 597 pages stuffed with information. Reprints are available but this is an original copy in rebound buckram. There is some damage what looks like wet ink staining ~20 pages and the last ~30 pages but does not affect printing. Binding is tight. A great reference work of the original publication. A rare book.

A lovely selection of poems by William Butler Yates published in this format for the first time in 1929 including some previously unpublished material. There is an illustration of Yeats from an engraving by Sargent on the title page. Blue cloth covered boards with embossed decoration to the front, gilt lettering to the spine and gilt top edges to the pages. In clean and sound condition apart from a rust mark from a paper clip to the top of the page between the front free end paper and the half title page. The erratum slip is present. Slight wear / bumping to the edges of the boards. Included with this copy is a hand-written letter on "The Nation" letterhead requesting a review of the book and signed by Frank Gallagher of Irish nationalism fame. A rare literary magazine from 1971 Roanoke, notable for the inclusion of five poems by Frank Stanford, as well as writing by Wendell Berry and others. (Editor Irv Broughton was a close associate of Stanford and published the poet's first book the same year.) Unmarked copy with light outer wear and spotting.

This is a very lovely small book of poetry by Dante Gabriel Rossetti with illustrations by Paul Woodroffe. It was published by David McKay, Philadelphia, and dates to circa 1916. This appears to be a special binding, more luxurious than the softcover binding that McKay published, because this one has covers of thick rose-colored suede leather with the title and author impressed deeply into the suede on the front cover and spine. The front and back have double-page illustrations by Paul Woodroffe, as shown, and the title page has a lovely design as well as a facing illustration; there are 3 other illustrations among the 27 pages. The illustrations are in the Arts & Crafts or Art Nouveau style. The page edges are gilt, as shown, and there is a pink ribbon bookmark sewn in.
