Together here are eight selections first appearing in the Edingburgh Review, to which Rogers was a long time contributor: "Life And Writings Of Thomas Fuller" (1842); "Andrew Marvell," (1844); "Luther’s Correspondence And Character," (1845); "Genius And Writings Of Pascal," (1847); "Sacred Eloquence: The British Pulpit," (1840); "The Vanity And Glory Of Literature," (1846); "Right Of Private Judgment," (1843); and "Reason And Faith: Their Claims And Conflict" (1849). Publisher’s 4-page catalogue of religious titles at the back. Very Good, clean, crisp, bright, cloth chipped at spine extremities, no foxing or staining, binding tight, sound and square, corners sharp, previous light pencil ownership signature dated 1864 on front blank end paper.
