The Essene Book Of Asha, Journey To The Cosmic Ocean

By Szekely, Edmond Bordeaux

International Biogenic Society, Matsqui, British Columbia, 1989; Revised and expanded edition; 8vo, 128 pages; illustrated. A complete step-by-step explanatory guide to the Art Of Asha, ancient occult instructional system using a board of 64 checkered black and white squares and movable symbols for the eight Ahuras, or cosmic forces, and eight Fravashis, or forces of nature. A precursor to the game of Chess, Asha is not considered a game, but a method of achieving harmony through insight into the interplay of the creative forces of the universe such as is taught in the Zarathustrian system of cosmology. Authored by philological phenomenon Dr. Edmond Bordeaux Szekely, co-founder in 1928 of the International Biogenic Society, who was learned in Sanskrit, Aramaic, Greek, and Latin, and spoke ten modern languages. "The Essene Book Of Asha" was first published in 1966 as "The Art Of Asha," with a focus on its importance as a spiritual ancestor of the Essene Tree Of Life. However, Szekely’s studies later led him to view Asha as the keystone and most important of all spiritual revelations. He thence began a revision, published posthumously here from his personal notes by Norma Nillson Bordeaux Szekely, the author’s research assistant and wife, who writes the preface for the book. Publisher’s catalogue of over fifty additional Szekely titles on inside rear wrap. Very Good Plus, in heavy wraps, no ownership signatures or any other markings of any kind. A clean and crisp copy of a unique book.

The Kabir Book: Forty-Four Of The Ecstatic Poems Of Kabir

By Kabir, Robert Bly

Seventies Press/ Beacon Books, Boston, 1977; First Edition, second printing; 8vo, 71 pages: A selection of forty-four poems by legendary 15th century Indian mystic and poet Kabir, whose spiritual growth was influenced by Sufi as well as Indian teachings, thus allying him to both Muslim and Hindu faithful. A story is told that at Kabir’s death the Muslim and Hindu factions each vehemently claimed him as an adherent of their faith, and the contention at the funeral procession was only assuaged when Kabir himself miraculously appeared and directed the throng to look under the cloth which covered his corpse, then immediately vanished. On raising the cloth nothing was found but a heap of flowers. These were divided by the rival faiths, half to the Muslims, who buried them, and half to the Hindus, who burnt them. Mellifluously translated into English by Robert Bly. Very Good Plus. Clean, crisp, bright, sharp, no ownership signatures or any other markings of any kind.
