Farrer was one of the intrepid British plant explorers, and this classic posthumous work describes his travels and collections in northwest China. This copy carries a inscription by the noted American zoologists Harris Hawthorne and Inez Whipple Wilder to a Baptist missionary in gratitude for his insights into China. 16 photos, map; pages toned, front hinge cracked, but a solid copy.
