About This Item
[Geneva]: [Le Réveil], 1940. Thirty three issues of the publication in staplebound booklet format, average length 16 pages, paper toned, otherwise generally very good unless stated. Contents in French and Italian. Issues present include two unnumbered issues from Nov. 1940, Dec. 1940, two apiece from January and February 1941, two from March 1941, one of which has the front cover almost torn off, one from April and two from May 1941, followed by sequentially numbered issues 17-21 (no. 19 rather soiled), 23-30, 32-36, 40, 47, and 107. Luigi Bertoni, who had been publishing the anarchist serial Le Réveil for decades, turned it into a clandestine publication during the war years, each issue a pamphlet with its own title, with "Quelque part en Suisse" (Somewhere in Switzerland) and the month and year at the bottom.
