Large Octavo. 518pp., This work is devoted to an account of each colony to administer the English theories of election and representation under widely different conditions from those which held goods in England of colonial days. It traces the influence of cheap land, of religious zeal, or of frontier ideals of equality upon the English aristocratic political system. Bound in 1/4 dark brown morocco over olive green cloth, raised bands, lettering within two compartments gilt, marbled endpapers, internally clean and bright without foxing, names or bookplates.
