1st ed, 1934, signed with an inscription on the title page: "For Mary who comes from the same province with all good wishes from: Laurens van der Post, Cape Town 1952". No d/w, spine faded and browned, with some wear to head and tail of spine, corners bumped, slight damp stains to front board and two small stains on rear boards. Previous owner's inscription in ink on fep. Small stamp on rear pastedown states Colonial Cloth Edition. Textblock beautifully clean throughout. Dustiness to edges of textblock.
