About This Item
Glasgow: Allan & Ferguson Single sided lithographic trade card with prices, approximately 125mm x 160mm in size, n.d. but 1840's. Very lightly browned, with glue stains to corners of reverse where once stuck in an album, otherwise fairly bright. Trade card with prices for both grey and bleached goods and coloured goods including checks and ginghams. The Lancefield Spinning Company was set up by the Graham brothers, the works in Miller Street appear in the Post Office Annual Glasgow Directory between 1840 and 1851, but certainly pre-date the 1840's, the company appears to have closed in 1876. For the printers [David] Allan and [William] Ferguson, see SBTI and Worms and Baynton-Williams, pages 14-15. First Edition. Unbound. Good+. 16mo. Trade Card.
