Guildford: The Astolat Press. 1904. First edition with these illustrations. First edition with these illustrations. Signed limited edition. Publisher's original white buckram with gilt titles to the upper board and spine. Top edge gilt. Illustrated with 15 etchings, mezzotints and copper engravings by William Hyde. Decorative chapter headings and initials. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a bump to the top corner of the upper board and mild toning to the spine. The contents are clean throughout and without foxing or previous owner's marks. Signed by the artist William Hyde and inscribed 'no 34' in blue ink on the blank front endpaper. One of an unspecified number of signed deluxe, large paper editions, printed on Japanese vellum. A beautiful illustrated edition of Milton's Poems, including Paradise Lost and Paradise Regained, taken from the Oxford text edited by Henry Charles Beeching.
