New York: Designed & Produced By Artist and Writers Guild; Distributed By Grosset & Dunlap, 1943. First edition with the Shinn illustrations. Good in fair dustjacket. Color illustrated hardcover with dark blue cloth spine, matching dustjacket. The book is in good used condition with some edwear and rubbing, particularly to the lower corner, good hinges, sound text block, minor smudge to first text page, pages uniformly age-toned but otherwise clean, no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped [5050] and is in fair condition, with spotting, chipping and creasing as well as some old clear tape repairs, newspaper portrait of the poet taped on front inner flap. . First Thus. Hard Cover. Good/Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
