Previous owner's bookplate. 24 text illustrations including frontis portrait. A beautiful copy. History of Norfolk County Ontario, pioneers, Scottish lineage, the Smiths, French Hugenots, IIsrael Wood, Captain William Franklin, the Welsch nobility offshoots, Sitts, Middleton Browns, Potts, etc. The author's original 1898 edition sold 1,100 of the 1,200 copies printed. The remainder burnt in a fire.

Series of sketches and essays which tell the story of pioneer life in Long Point Settlement in Norfolk County Long Point dips into Lake Erie near Port Dover, Fort Rowan, Ontario and is renowned for its fishing, conservation and wild life and bird sanctuaries.
