Two titles from Murray's Home and Colonial Library bound together: Philip Musgrave; or Memoirs of a Church of England Missionary in the North American Colonies edited by the Rev. J. Abbott (1846); and Memoirs of Father Ripa, During Thirteen Years' Residence at the Court of Peking in the Service of the Emperor of China; with an account of the foundation of the college for the education of young Chinese at Naples; selected and translated from the Italian, by Fortunato Prandi (1844). vi, 158 p.; viii, 160 p.; 18 cm. Contemporary half polished calf with marbled paper over boards. Five spine compartments between double gilt rules. Black leather label in second compartment with gilt-tooled series title "Home & Colonial Library." Gilt-tooled titles in fourth and fifth compartments. All page edges speckled red. Green endpapers. Both interesting works; Memoirs of Father Ripa is particularly scarce. In Very Good+ Condition: spine somewhat faded but gilt still bright; edges lightly rubbed; clean and tight.
