A first impression of the first edition of Walter Scott's novel published in four parts. Very good in unsigned 1/2 leather binding with title labels to spines. (Todd & Bowden 165Aa) All 4 volumes lack half titles but conform to the first state with comma at end of 3rd line of imprint. Volume 3 has a vertical crease to page 206, a cancel leaf A8 and erratum slip not present. Minor scuffing to spine hinges.
