Paris: Henri Jonquieres, 1922. First Edition. Octavo. This book, the fifth in the collection (fine novels) was limited to 1180 copies. This is #1062 on Rives paper. 361p Illustrated by Albert Ande. Beautifully bound in three-quarter rich black crushed morocco over marbled paper covered boards, raised bands with compartments decorated in gilt with small central embellishment in brown, top edge gilt, silk ribbon marker, original wrappers bound in.. Claude Farrère, pseudonym of Frédéric-Charles Bargone (27 April 1876, in Lyon - 21 June 1957, in Paris), was a French author. Les petites alliées is set in the French coastal city and military harbor of Toulon; the plot concerns young naval officers living and working there and entertaining themselves with a series of adventures. The book was made into a film in 1936.
