Hardcover. 255, (3) pages; Clean and secure in original quarto orange cloth with gilt lettering and decoration at front board and spine; corners still sharp, spine faded. Text block and all twelve colour plates with tissue guards in near fine condition. Pictorial endpapers. Peer Gynt is one of the most widely performed Norwegian plays of all time. This edition contains the fabulous illustrations of Arthur Rackham, one of the most celebrated painters of the British Golden Age of Illustration. Rackham’s artistry combined haunting humour with dream-like romance. .

At The Antiquarian Book Shop, located in Georgetown - an historic neighborhood of Washington, D.C. we have been buying, selling & appraising rare, interesting and scholarly books in Georgetown for more than 30 years.
