Goodrich. 168 p.: woodcut frontispiece, title vignette, and in-text illustrations throughout; 15 cm. Publisher's green cloth with gilt-stamped spine title and decoration. Gilt-stamped cover title: A Gift for a Good Child. Blind-stamped decorative border on both boards. Gift inscription on front free endpaper to Loui from Maria Trimble Davis, Cape May, 1851. Charmingly illustrated anecdotes of life in early 19th-century New England. In Good Condition: cover is stained and soiled; spine is sunned; slight loss of cloth at ends of spine; corners are rubbed; old stain at lower edge of gutter in front pages, not touching text or illustrations; light foxing. A solid copy of this very scarce Samuel G. Goodrich book.
