7" x 10". Orange Card Stock Cover with Black Printing has watermark on the upper right corner in front and some water marking along the edge on the back cover. Appears to have a drip from a fountain pen near the hinge on the front cover. Otherwise cover in good condition with little shelf wear. 36 glossy pages with 1 color plate and 12 black and white full-page plates of early work of Wallace Hughes, "a promising young artists. Wallace Hughes is now in his early twenties". 13 B&W photographs of birds at OWEN PARK in Tulsa, Oklahoma, included in an article "by the editor of Parks & Recreation", Will O. Dolittle, after the Wallace Hughes text and plates. The twelve plates illustrate the park birds in Owen Park in each of the twelve months of the year. Book has had newspaper clippings stored within the pages as late as 1963, causing some discoloration to some of the pages. Clippings included in the sale. Application for membership in the Tulsa Audubon Society also inserted at the back of the book. Rare and precious find. Our personal family collection. Our book number 1067.

About The M.A.D. House Artists

The M.A.D. House Artists is located in our home on beautiful Grand Lake in Oklahoma. We are so rural even Google does not know where we are. Call for Directions. The M.A.D. House Artists have amassed a large inventory from private collections, personal libraries, and public library purges. It is our strong feeling that these books should be available for reading, rather than shredding and recycling as grocery bags. Our collection is eclectic and ranges from the sublime to the ridiculous, but so do our reading tastes. If you do not see your book listed, please feel free to contact us, as there are many more not yet listed, and more are added daily. Visitors are welcome, and encouraged to call for directions.
