FIRST EDITION 1778. 8vo, approximately 200 x 120 mm, 8 x 5 inches, pages: liii, [1], 1-639, full later mottled vellum, faded gilt lettered label to spine, gilt double rules to spine, armorial bookplate to first pastedown. Slight wear and rubbing to binding, small neat repair to foot of spine, tiny repaired tear to first free endpaper, short closed tear to lower margin of page 549 running into text, neatly repaired, no loss of text, occasional pale spot, tiny burn hole to 1 top margin, not near text, otherwise a very good copy. Comprehensive treatise on bread-making and the sale of the product. It includes a history of bread-making in the introduction.
