Illustrated throughout with ink drawings and sketches by Gordon Onslow-Ford. Decorative endpapers. Bound in paper-covered boards with Onslow-Ford's art on front and rear cover. In the dust jacket, illustrated to mimic the book's boards, that shows light edge-wear. The text is facsimile of handwritten script, as explained in a note by the author-artist: This book is written by hand, as handwriting is a form of drawing. The way in which the words are written is part of the meaning." An exposition of action painting and related abstract styles. Dust jacket is now preserved in a clear, removable archival sleeve.
