This scarce work remains one of the best works on both George Washington and the signers of the Declaration of Independence. He has biographies of the signers often with engravings and signatures (but not of the elusive Button Gwinett). A very handsome near fine set bound in brown cloth lettered and decorated in gilt, spine lettering gilt, all edges marbled, no names or bookplates and free from foxing. A scarce set.
