Very Nice Condition copy. This is a FIRST Edition, FIRST Printing copy as stated on the copyright page. The dust jacket is in very good condition with slight top and bottom edge tears and some foxing to the top edge. The Interior of the book is Like New. The book is not price-clipped. This book has no marks, creases, remainder marks, library markings, or black lines on the edges. Not inscribed to anyone. Not a Book Club Edition (BCE), or signed on a bookplate. True Collectible Quality. First Edition, First Printing, hand SIGNED to the Full Title page. No inscription; full signature only. Ruth Prawer Jhabvala was born to Polish parents in Cologne, Germany. She moved to England with her family in 1939. In 1951 she married Indian architect C.S.H. Jhabvala and moved with him to India. Jhabvala was the author of twelve novels, including Heat and Dust, which was awarded Britain's prestigious Booker Prize. She was also a MacArthur Fellow and received a Guggenheim Fellowship and an Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. A talented screenwriter, Jhabvala earned two Academy Awards (A Room With a View and Howards End) with her work for Merchant-Ivory Productions. Before she passed, Jhabvala and her husband divided their time between Delhi and New York. This book will be carefully wrapped and shipped with free delivery confirmation.
