About This Item
Chadwick's "Symphonic Ballad" is based upon Robert Burns' poem of the same title. Composed in 1915 at a time when the US was on the brink of World War I, the work was viewed as an affirmation of America's Anglo-Celtic heritage. The present score is a carefully restored reissue of the first edition issued by the Boston Music Co in 1917. Unlike so many of the on-demand scores now available, this one comes with all the pages and the images have been thoroughly checked to make sure it is readable, is beautifully printed on off-white stock with a quality cover.
Orchestra (3d1, 2+1, 2+1+D, 2 - 4, 3, 3, 1, timp, perc, hp, strs) ; ISMN: 979-0-58021-016-6
