Association copy. Inscribed by the author on half-title page in the year of publication to friend and fellow writer Joe L. Hensley, "For Joe and Char, All the best, John and Dorothy, 6 May '84." Three-quarter black paper over quarter black cloth over boards, silhouette of cathedral stamped in black in upper quarter of front board, spine bearing stamped foil silver titles. Slight corner bumping. .75 x .25-inch closed tear to top of pp 149/150, else Very Good. Glossy pictorial dust jacket has light browning along top edge of front panel, curling to bottom edge of rear flap, slight bumping at corners, and half-inch closed tear on front panel one-half inch from heel of spine. Price of $15.95 unclipped. Dust jacket now in archival protective cover.
