Minneapolis: Northcraft Studios, "At The Sign of the Pine, 1920. First edition. Hardcover. Quarter bound in tan buckram, descriptive front cover text. Very good. Portfolio is 15 x 12 1/2 inches. A complete set of five etchings: Canal Bridge, The Old Well at Toul, A Street Scene, The Fireside, The Fagot Gatherer, plus at inside back cover a bifold leaf, a description of each and an additional etching, "Here am I," a crane hoisting debris. Sizes of the five etchings in inches: Canal [7 1/8 x 10 1/4]. Old Well [10 1/4 x 7 5/8], Street [9 1/2 x 6 1/2], Street [9 1/2 x 6 1/2], Fireside [6 3/4 x 6], Gatherer [9 1/8 x 7 1/4]. Two of aforementioned printed is sepia, all on laid paper, distinct plate impressions on each. Edwill Fisher (1896-1960], an American artist from Indiana, thence to Minneapolis. He was a cartographer in the US Army during WWI in France. After the war he studied art and etching in France. Front cover with iridescent gold, green, orange and blue marbled designs. Covers lack spine.
