About This Item
London: Sampson Low, Marston & Co., Ltd, 1876. First Edition. Small Quarto. viii, 215 pages. Thompson shows great Medieval homes and interiors including Penhurst, Knole, Hever Castle and Stoke Poges Church. A beautiful copy with extraordinarily bright publisher's green gilt decorated cloth and all twenty-three hand-mounted albumen photographs all in fine condition, lacking the fading endemic to some copies nor is there the foxing that sometimes occurs, however, it had been recased and new endpapers with a bit of wear and touch up to spine ends otherwise a very handsome copy.
