Illustrated with 12 full-page illuminated color engravings and 1390 B&W engravings. Printed by William Clowes in London. This volume deals with the British Period, the Roman Period, and the Anglo-Saxon Period before the Conquest; Regal and Baronial Antiquities, Ecclesiastical and Popular Antiquities in the period from the Norman Conquest to the Death of King John (1066-1216), in the periods from the Accession of Henry III to the end of the reign of Richard II (1216-1399); and from the Accession of Henry IV to the end of the Reign of Richard III (1399-1485). . The paper is lightly toned, but supple, mildly chipped in places, never affecting text ot illustrations, all of which are clean and bright, else fine.
